Love fabrics by Amy Butler

If you know fabric designers then you know Amy Butler.  I am a HUGE fan and use a ton of her fabrics to create many of my bags.  She recently came out with a new collection called "Love" and I quickly became infatuated with the colors and prints - they're gorgeous!  I bought a few of the fabrics prior to Christmas and made a couple of bags with it... they all turned out great.  I still had some pieces left over to create another hobo-style bag - here it is:

Guess Who's on Etsy?!

Well, I finally got around to doing it - I set up my shop on Etsy this evening!  There are only five items listed for sale but I am SO excited!  This is a great step in a direction I've been hoping to go with my business and I can only hope for the very best.

(I did want to throw out there - if anybody has any advice on taxes or could set me up 'pro bono' with a tax attorney to figure out all this mess - I'd GREATLY appreciate it!)

Thanks so much for all your support!

A New Year of Possibilities!

Happy 2010!  This year is off to a great start!  I finished a diaper bag for a dear high school friend who is expecting her first child anytime...  I was so excited to get her the bag though I forgot to take pictures!  I'm hoping she will send me a few once she has a moment between braxton hicks contractions - I'll plan on posting them if she does.  Good luck Nikki - I'm thinking of you!

I also completed a great swing bag for my friend Liz.  She asked for a birthday present for her friend Jocelyn.  Liz does the best job of describing her friends and family!  I always know JUST what fabrics and colors to look for!  She described Jocelyn as being very outdoorsy and organic or "REI" as she put it!  Can't you just picture it?  Here is what I interpreted that as:

The exterior fabric had a black background with a deep copper brown and pale gold in a gingko leaf print...

A shot of the detailed handle and button closure

For the interior fabric I picked a fabric with a golden
background and smattering of dots - very organic!

Another close up shot of the exterior

Another view of the interior - this bag had a small pocket inside
and a small pocket on the exterior as well.

My goal for 2010 (I can't bring myself to say 'resolution' - I'd NEVER get it done if I did!!!) is to get my Pursewna shop set up on the website http://www.etsy.com/.  I hope to be up and running by the end of the month!  I'll be sure to post info when I do!
