Available purses and diaper bags!

I thought I'd take inventory of what bags are currently available for purchase.  Pricing for most purses is $40.00 (plus shipping) and for most diaper bags is $65.00 (plus shipping) - unless otherwise noted.  I am happy to gift wrap and can ship easily via USPS to anywhere in the U.S. or to APO/FPO addresses.

A wonderful Avocado Green Print Fabric to Coordinate with a Lavendar & Olive Squiggles Fabric.  These fabrics were used to create two purses - one larger than the other:

Smaller sized purse

Larger of the two purses

The following diaper totes feature numerous pockets - one has a button closure and one does not.  These bags are being offered for a special price of $30.00 each.

The interior fabic is a light pink with white swirls

The following fabrics feel very preppy to me - a lime green and
light pink damask with a dainty interior fabric.

The straps of this bag feature the light pink with white swirl fabric that is also on the above diaper tote bag.  Shows an example of using three different fabrics rather than the standard two coordinating fabrics.

The interior of the bag also has pockets

This bag has a fantastic light blue and gray lotus print with red accents and a polka dot interior fabric. This bag is similar to the first bag I created shown in a previous posting.

I absolutely LOVE the fabrics used to create this bag.  It features a bright kelly green with hot pink and yellow accented damask print for the exterior fabric and a fuschia interior print.  What a statement bag!

The following diaper bag is sewn using home decorator fabric.  This gives it more weight and allows for better wear.  The fabrics feature a great maroon and pink modern polka dot print with a more traditional floral print for the interior.  I took it one step further with a third fabric for the interior pockets - they are a light yellow with a modern print.

Most of my bags feature pleated and stitched straps to give them a one-of-a-kind feel

Custom Diaper Bags

Last Fall I became pregnant and soon realized the market for diaper bags was immense!  I decided to expand on the bags I'd aleady created and come up with inventive ways to make the standard bag more personable.  Every Mom wants to be fashionable but having a diaper bag that is functionable is the main priority!  These bags are ALL mashine washable - that way you can throw it in the wash when you've set it down on too many dirty floors or baby food spills when you're at the park!

My good friend Janel from college contacted me about making her a diaper bag as she was pregnant with her third little boy and wanted something new.  She looked online at fabrics and picked out the exterior fabric - I then picked a few different coordinating fabrics and she picked which one she liked best.  The final bag turned out awesome!  Janel had her little boy a few weeks ago and he's adorable - congratulations Janel!

Recently I was contacted through a friend about creating a diaper bag for an upcoming baby shower.  Seems it's become popular to purchase one of my bags and then fill it with other baby goodies!  I love that idea!!!  This bag is for Sandy from her friend Alie in Kansas:

The inspiration for this bag was the Amy Butler line of
Midwestern Modern and the color combination of blue and green

Alie herself also ordered a bag - she gave birth on September 1st to a little girl named Liliana.  Alie requested something modern and said she liked the idea of browns, purples or greens.  She gave me free reign to pick the fabrics - I hope she likes what I found!

Detail of the button closure - I couldn't resist the cute stuffed bunny in the pocket!

Alie's idea was to add a 'belt-loop' of sorts where she could hang keys, pacifiers and toys!  What a great idea - I added it onto all three diaper bags made in the last few weeks!

Custom creations

It was easy to realize that a number of people would want input in how their purse or bag turned out.  Some friends/customers picked from fabrics I already had, others looked online at www.fabric.com to choose their fabrics.  Here are some custom bags that I sewed:

My good friend Liz asked me about making a diaper bag when she was pregnant with her second son Jackson.  I created a tote-style diaper bag for her using blue/green fabrics.  She was thrilled with the result!

Other bags & purses created

Soon I was in the swing of things and was creating bag after bag! It was addicting buying fabrics and putting together new designs. I took a shot at creating tote-style diaper bags, a clutch and expanding on the original design. What fun! Here are some of those bags:

Red-Multi Bag:  fun graphic print on outside and red/orange tile print interior

Loved these colors!  Bright pastels with apple colored print interior

Chevron print interior with floral exterior - button closure

The beginning of Pursewna

I thought it would be best to create a blog specifically to showcase the purses and diaper bags I create for Pursewna. This way I can send the link out to people who are interested in seeing more pictures of the bags and write a little about each specific bag. Here are some pictures of my initial purses - many of these were sold or given as gifts to friends and family.

How it all started: the first bag!! (My Mom modeling...)

From there I realized creating more of these bags as gifts and possibly to sell was a great hobby! I played around countless times with the size and overall design - adding pockets, details to the straps, etc.

Most bags are reversible - many have embellishments like buttons too.
